When you pay a supplier invoice through Weel, it moves through a few statuses before it's fully settled. Pending means the payment has already left your Weel account balance, not that it's finished. Knowing what each status means tells you exactly where your money is, and when you need to take action.
How It Works
- Pending: Your payment has left your Weel balance and is on its way to your supplier's bank, but hasn't finished settling yet.
- Paid: Once your supplier's bank confirms the funds have cleared, the status updates automatically to green Paid.
- Failed: If bank details are invalid, or a payment doesn't pass a compliance check, the invoice moves to Failed instead of Paid.
- Payment sent tab: In the app, Pending payments currently show as "Payment sent" and sit inside the Paid tab rather than their own.
Good to know
- Pending doesn't guarantee a payment will complete. In rare cases it can still come back as Failed.
- If a payment fails, fix the issue (for example, update the supplier's bank details) and retry it.
- If an invoice has been sitting in Pending for an unusually long time, see How do I fix a failed payment? or contact support.
