How to integrate Weel with Quickbooks

Connect QuickBooks to Weel to sync your chart of accounts and tax codes automatically, so you can map them to your Weel expense categories.

Before you start

  • The QuickBooks integration is only available to Australian Weel businesses.
  • You can only connect one accounting integration at a time. If Xero, MYOB, NetSuite, or Business Central is already connected, disconnect it first.
    • Disconnecting an existing integration to make room for QuickBooks isn't free: you'll lose its chart of accounts mapping, and expense data will stop exporting automatically until you reconnect and remap.

Steps

  1. Click Settings.
  2. Click Integrations.
  3. Click Connect next to QuickBooks.
  4. Sign in to your Intuit account when redirected.
  5. Select the Company you want to connect from the dropdown and allow access.
    • This step happens on Intuit's own screen, not Weel's, so its exact wording may vary.

What happens next

If the connection succeeds, you're taken straight to the Chart of Accounts tab, with your active chart of accounts and tax codes brought in automatically. Tracking categories (QuickBooks' Classes and Locations) aren't synced, so map your chart of accounts to your Weel expense categories from that tab before expense data can export automatically.

If the connection fails, you'll see a message on the Integrations tab and can try Connect again.

If you later switch to a different accounting software, your historical QuickBooks transactions won't automatically carry over, and you'll need to redo the chart of accounts mapping once you reconnect.
