Import your Xero suppliers into Accounts Payable to keep supplier records accurate without manual entry, as explained in Understanding How Weel Suppliers Sync with Xero.
Steps
- Go to Settings in the Weel web app and select Integrations (skip this if Xero is already connected).
- Choose Xero and click Connect, then follow the prompts to authorise Weel to access your Xero data.
- Go to the Suppliers page.
- Click Import from Xero.
-
Review the Xero contacts shown in the Import suppliers from Xero panel.
- Weel only shows contacts that are Active in Xero, with a complete bank account (account number and BSB or routing code) and complete address (street, suburb, state, postcode, country) recorded, in any country, not just Australia.
-
Check any contact marked with a warning icon before importing it.
- This means it may match an existing Weel supplier by name and bank details; importing it replaces that supplier's details with the Xero version and makes it read-only and Xero-sourced.
- Select the suppliers you want to bring in and click Import Suppliers.
- Open the Suppliers list to confirm your import. Imported suppliers show Source: Xero and their last sync date.
-
To update an imported supplier's details, edit the record in Xero, since Xero-sourced suppliers are read-only in Weel.
- Re-sync immediately using Re-sync from Xero: available in the Suppliers list row's action menu, the supplier's detail view (which also has a View in Xero link), or by reopening the Import from Xero panel and re-selecting the supplier.
What happens next
Weel periodically checks whether the Xero contact has changed since import and shows a "changes detected" indicator on the supplier, in both the Suppliers list and the Import panel, when it has, so re-syncing or re-importing picks up the latest update.
