Weel timestamps for every transaction precisely, but the date shown depends on which timezone the screen uses. Web, exports, and reports use your business's timezone; mobile uses your phone's own. This can make one transaction look like it happened on different days: near midnight, while travelling, or when reconciling your accounting export. Here's which one to trust for each surface.
How It Works
- Web app, statements, and CSV/PDF exports display dates in your business's configured timezone, so every viewer sees the same date regardless of location.
- Business Central exports also use your business's configured timezone, matching the web app exactly.
- The mobile app currently shows transaction, request, and approval dates in your phone's timezone, so they can appear a day off while travelling.
- Xero exports post using Australia/Sydney time regardless of your business's actual timezone, which can shift a near-midnight transaction to a different day.
- MYOB and QuickBooks exports use the transaction's raw UTC timestamp with no timezone conversion, which can also shift near-midnight transactions to a different day.
- Budget periods and subscription renewals turn over on your business's local date, in line with the web app.
Good to know
- Your business's timezone (Australia/Sydney by default) covers the web app, exports, budgets, and billing. It isn't self-service, so changing it means a request to Weel.
- There's no setting to change how the mobile app displays dates. That's a known, currently open issue on our side, not a problem with your device or account.
- If you spot a mismatch, note which two surfaces disagreed, the approximate local time the transaction cleared, and your business's configured timezone. That combination usually explains it; if it doesn't, share those details with Weel support.
