If the edit icon for a receipt dollar threshold won't open, check three things in order: the tax invoice setting, your plan tier, and your permissions.
Note: The edit icon only ever appears next to Budget card transactions, Subscription card transactions, and Reimbursements. It never applies to Accounts Payable (bill) transactions on any plan. Accounts Payable only ever offers Mandatory or Optional, with no amount-based exception.
Steps
-
Please navigate to Settings → Expense Fields → Tax Invoices and confirm the tax invoice requirement is set to Mandatory for Budget card transactions, Subscription card transactions, or Reimbursements.
- The dollar threshold only applies once the payment type is set to Mandatory. Until then, the edit icon stays disabled with an explanatory tooltip, even on a plan that includes the feature.
-
Confirm your business is on a Premium or Enterprise plan.
- This feature, called smart receipt thresholds, isn't included on Basic. On Basic, the edit icon shows an upgrade prompt instead of opening the amount field. Follow the prompts to upgrade, or contact your account manager.
-
Confirm you have the Settings permission.
- Owner, Admin, and Accountant roles have this by default. A custom role needs it granted explicitly. Without it, you can't change any setting on this page, not just this one.
Threshold amounts are entered in AUD.
