Accounts Payable is included on every Weel plan for Australian businesses, letting you capture, approve, and pay supplier invoices at no extra cost. If you can't see it, the reason is almost always your country, permissions, or verification status, not your plan. This overview covers what's included, what it costs, and what you need before you can use it.
How It Works
- Included by default: Available on Basic, Premium, and Enterprise plans for Australian businesses, so there's no add-on to buy or upgrade for.
- End-to-end payments: Capture, code, approve, and pay every supplier invoice in one flow, funded from your budget's balance.
- Controlled visibility: Anyone on a budget can submit an invoice against it, but the Accounts Payable permission in Roles settings gives admins oversight of every invoice across the business.
- Built-in approval routing: Invoices route to the budget owner for approval by default, even the owner's own submissions, using the same engine as cards and reimbursements.
- Configurable approval rules: Admins can set custom approval rules by person, role, budget, or amount instead of the default owner routing.
- No extra transaction fees: Domestic bank transfer and BPAY payments carry no per-invoice fee. Only standard fees apply to international supplier payments.
Good to know
- Accounts Payable isn't available to New Zealand businesses on any plan today.
- A bill can be coded and approved before your account is verified or funded, but it can't be paid until both are in place. See What happens when my Business account or Employee account is paused? if your account is on hold.

- There's no way to use Accounts Payable to capture and code an invoice only, while paying the supplier outside Weel. Every invoice marked Paid is paid by Weel itself.
