Add an international supplier to Weel either while creating a bill or invoice payment, or directly from the Suppliers section, so it's ready for future payments.
Steps
Option 1: Add a supplier while making a payment
- Click Make a payment to start a new bill or invoice payment.
- Each bill or invoice payment is tied to one supplier, so you can't split it across multiple suppliers.
- Click the Supplier name field to open the dropdown of existing suppliers. Suppliers still awaiting approval show a "Pending" tag.
- Select an existing supplier, or continue to add a new one.
- Select Add new supplier from the dropdown. A panel opens on the right with the required supplier fields, including currency and payment method.
- Under Supplier country, select the supplier's country.
- Complete the banking details. These fields change depending on the country and payment method you choose. For example, some countries need a SWIFT/BIC code, while EUR-currency countries generally need an IBAN plus a BIC/SWIFT code instead.
- You verify the bank details yourself. Weel doesn't cross-check them against the invoice or Xero.
- Click Save supplier.
Option 2: Add a supplier directly from Suppliers
You don't have to create a supplier as part of a payment.
- Go to the Suppliers section.
- Suppliers here are organised into four tabs: All Suppliers, Draft, Pending, and Approved.
- Click Add new supplier.
- Complete the same form as Option 1: country, currency, payment method, and banking details, then click Save supplier.
- As with Option 1, you verify the bank details yourself. Weel doesn't cross-check them against the invoice or Xero.
- To bring suppliers in from an accounting integration instead of adding them one at a time, use the Import from [Integration Name] button (for example, Import from Xero). It only shows if your business has a verified integration that supports it, currently Xero, MYOB, or Business Central.
- Suppliers imported from Business Central need their bank details added manually before they can be paid. Suppliers from Xero or MYOB arrive with bank details already included.
What happens next
Once you save the supplier, it's submitted for approval together with the bill or invoice payment, with no separate approval step for the supplier itself. When the bill is approved, the supplier is approved too and becomes available to select for future payments.
