Turn on AI auto-complete descriptions so Weel AI drafts new card expense descriptions for you, based on your team's past coding for that merchant (see How does AI auto-complete descriptions work?).
Before you start
- You need to be an Owner, Admin, or have the "Configure all settings" permission.
- Description fields must be turned on for your business, under Settings > Expense Fields > Descriptions.
- Description must stay marked as required for card, subscription, and in-store payments under the same setting. This is on by default, so most businesses won't need to change it.
Steps
- Navigate to Settings.
- Click the AI and automations tab.

In the Weel AI panel, find Auto-complete description and toggle it on.
- This doesn't apply retroactively: only new card transactions from this point get an AI-suggested description, so already-incomplete expenses still need manual completion.
What happens next
Weel AI drafts new card expense descriptions from how your team has coded that merchant before, so you just review and submit each expense as usual. Correct a suggestion once, and Weel AI remembers it for that merchant next time.
