Weel periodically asks Australian businesses to reconfirm their business information, a process called re-verification (reKYB). It's a routine, ongoing AML/CTF Act requirement, not a sign that anything is wrong, and it applies even when nothing about your business has changed. Because most of what Weel has on file carries over, re-verifying is usually quick, and your account keeps working normally throughout.
How It Works
- Risk-based scheduling: Weel reviews the risk score for a business and will verify the entity every one to three years depending on the risk level. Weel can bring a review forward if your risk profile changes.
- Owner-only access: Only your business's Owner can see and start a re-verification; reminder emails go to the Owner and all Admins, so forward yours on if you're not the Owner.
- What's always refreshed: Proof of address and your Letter of Authority are requested again every time; you'll need a new Letter of Authority if it's been over three months since you last verified, and any expired ID document will need replacing.
- Uninterrupted access: Your cards, transactions, and ability to add employees or cards keep working normally while a re-verification is in progress or scheduled.
- Automatic reactivation: Completing your re-verification lifts any account pause automatically once it's approved, with no need to contact Support.
Good to know
- If a re-verification isn't completed by its deadline, your account is paused for compliance reasons: transactions, direct debit top-ups, and Accounts Payable activity are put on hold, cards are temporarily blocked, and billing pauses too, so you won't be charged while the account is in this state.
- A director resigning doesn't bring your next re-verification forward on its own; if your KYB is already approved, it stays valid until your normal review cycle.
- Keeping your business and director details current between reviews, for example updating your registered address or director list as soon as they change, means less to update at your next re-verification.
