How It Works
- Private Company (Pty Ltd): A registered private company with an ACN, governed by shareholders and directors.
- Public Company: Listed on a domestic or international exchange, or otherwise regulated as a public company.
- Companies Limited by Guarantee (Not-for-Profits): Public but not listed on a stock exchange. Common for charities, associations, and foundations.
- Regulated Trust: Your trust is regulated, for example a registered MIS, an unregistered MIS with wholesale clients, or a government super fund.
- Unregulated Trust: Your trust is unregulated, for example a family trust, unit trust, charitable trust, or testamentary trust.
- Partnership: Two or more individuals or entities run the business together under a formal partnership agreement.
- Association (Not-for-Profits): An incorporated association such as a community group, club, or not-for-profit, registered under state or territory law.
- Government Entity: A government department, agency, or statutory authority.
- Sole Trader: An individual who operates a business in their own name or under a registered business name, and is responsible for all aspects of it.
