If you're not a Director or equivalent of your business, you'll need to complete a Letter of Authority (LOA) as part of your onboarding. Weel's digital LOA process lets you generate, send and track the LOA directly from the onboarding form.
Step 1: Select a stakeholder and generate the LOA
On the Letter of Authority page in the onboarding form:
- Select a stakeholder from the dropdown. Only eligible signers are shown based on your entity type (e.g. Directors for companies, Trustees for trusts, Partners for partnerships, Chairpersons for associations). These are the stakeholders you provided in the previous section of the form.
- Click Generate Letter of Authority.
- Weel will create a pre-filled PDF with the following details auto-populated:
- Registered business name
- Your full name (the applicant)
- The stakeholder's full name
Step 2: Send the LOA for signing
Once the LOA has been generated, you have two options to send it for electronic signature:
Option A: Send via email
- Enter the stakeholder's email address
- Optionally customise the message that will be included in the email.
- Click Send.
The stakeholder will receive an email from help@letsweel.com with a link to review and sign the LOA electronically. They don't need to create an account - they simply click the link, review the document and sign.
Option B: Copy a private link
- Enter the stakeholder's email address
- Click Copy link to generate a secure signing URL.
- Share the link with the stakeholder via any channel you prefer (e.g. messaging, email, etc.).
Private signing links are valid for 30 days. If the link expires, you can generate a new one from the LOA page.
Alternative: Upload a manually signed LOA
If digital signing isn't suitable, you can:
- Click Download to download a copy of the pre-filled (unsigned) LOA.
- Have it signed externally.
- Upload the signed document by dragging and dropping or browsing to the file on the LOA page.
Step 3: Submit your application
You don't need to wait for the LOA to be signed before submitting your application. Once you've generated and sent the LOA, click Save and next to continue and submit your full application.
Your application will be held until the LOA is signed. Once the stakeholder signs, your application will automatically be submitted for verification and you'll receive a confirmation email.
