From time to time, Weel asks a business to re-confirm its business information as part of routine re-verification (re-KYB). This is separate from your original onboarding verification. Here's what happens if that request isn't completed, and how to get your account working again.
If you don't complete the request by the date shown in it, your account is paused until verification is complete ("Compliance Paused").
What a Compliance Paused account can and can't do
A Compliance Paused account is locked out the same way any paused Weel business is. See What happens when my Business account or Employee account is paused? above for the full breakdown of cards, billing, transfers, direct debit, Accounts Payable, Reimbursements and approvals.
One difference is worth calling out here. Your business's Owner can still log in, and doing so takes them straight to a "Your Weel account has been paused" screen with a Verify your business button, so they can complete the re-verification without needing the pause lifted first. Anyone who isn't the Owner, including Admins who also receive the reminder emails, sees a message explaining that only the Owner can complete this step, and is directed to contact the Owner or Weel Support. They can't action it themselves.
How to lift the pause
Only the business's Owner can do this:
- Log in as normal. You'll land on the paused-account screen automatically.
- Select Verify your business.
- Confirm your business information is current and resubmit it, even if nothing has changed. Weel's own copy for this step estimates it takes about 10 minutes.
If you're not the Owner, ask them to complete this, or contact Weel Support if you're not sure who currently holds that role.
Reactivation timeframe
Reactivation is automatic. There's no separate waiting step. As soon as your resubmitted information is approved, your account switches back to Active straightaway, with no manual action needed from Weel or from you beyond the resubmission itself.
If it stays unresolved
The daily reminder emails keep arriving for as long as the business is Owner or Admin reachable and the re-verification remains outstanding. Your account isn't closed for staying unresolved. It simply remains Compliance Paused, with all the restrictions above, until someone completes the re-verification.
Keeping the request reaching the right person
Reminders go to whoever currently holds the Owner and Admin roles on the business, so this only reaches someone who can act if those roles are kept current. See How to change the Owner of your Weel account and Understanding the different roles and access levels within Weel if you need to update who holds these roles.
