When you connect Weel to Xero, settled transfers and direct debits arrive automatically as a statement line in your Weel Expenses Account bank feed (direct debits typically settle within 3-5 business days).
Weel treats a transfer and a direct debit the same way here, so the steps below apply to either. Because the money moved between two real bank accounts, Xero needs it reconciled on both sides - this is standard Xero behaviour for any inter-account transfer, not something specific to Weel.
Steps
- Open Xero.
- Select your business bank account from the Xero Dashboard or Accounting tab.
- Find the transfer or direct debit under the Reconcile tab.
- It may appear as "Funds added to Weel account" (or, on older feeds, "Funds added to DiviPay account").
- Click the Transfer tab and select the Weel Expenses Account. Xero automatically creates a matching entry on the other account.
- Click OK.
- Open the Weel Expenses Account from the Xero Dashboard or Accounting tab.
- Find the matching entry under the Reconcile tab.
- Click OK.
Once both sides are reconciled, your statement balance in the Weel Expenses Account updates to match.
What happens next
If you connected Weel to Xero after the transfer or direct debit settled, mark it as a transfer into the Weel Expenses Account and reconcile it manually - the feed only backfills up to 7 days of history. This process is specific to transfers and direct debits; card transactions, bills, and reimbursements sync differently, since Weel creates the Xero entry for you directly, so they usually just need a single click to match.
