This article shows you how to reconcile your Weel transactions in Xero once they've synced through the Using the Xero Bank Feed.
Steps
- Open Xero.
- Click the Accounting menu.
- Click Bank Accounts.
- Select the Weel Expenses Account from your list of bank accounts.
- Open the Reconcile tab.
- Click OK next to each transaction to match it with its corresponding expense data.
Important: Only reconcile from the Reconcile tab on the Weel Expenses Account. Reconciling from Xero's Account Transactions tab causes double-up reconciliations and incorrect balances.
Good to Know
When you connect Weel to Xero, your Weel spend arrives through a live bank feed rather than a manual import. Each Weel transaction exports to Xero in two parts:
- Transaction data: the unchangeable facts about the transaction (merchant, amount, date, and time). This exports once the transaction's status moves from Pending to Cleared (or to Refunded).
- Expense data: the business context you add (GST/tax treatment, person, description, accounting code, and tracking category). This exports once the transaction is also coded with an expense category.
An automatic process picks up the previous day's Cleared or Refunded transactions starting at approximately 5 a.m. Australian Eastern time (Sydney). This runs daily, can take a little time to finish, and needs no action from you.
What happens next
After you reconcile in Xero, Weel checks back in roughly every 6 hours (pausing briefly during the 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. export window) and updates the transaction's export status to Reconciled. Allow some time after reconciling before this shows on Weel's Transactions page. The Xero Export column moves through four stages: Waiting to Export, Unreconciled, Reconciled, and Export Error if something needs attention.
