How to turn off instant approval notifications

Turn off instant approval notifications and rely on a scheduled summary email instead; Weel always keeps at least one notification type active.

Note: This is different from Approval Rules (a Premium-plan feature for building multi-step approval workflows); this article only covers notification delivery preferences.

Steps

  1. Open the Weel web app.
  2. Click the Settings cog in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Profile tab.
  5. In the Communication preferences section, toggle off Instant approval notifications.
    • Instant notifications are sent by email and push notification; the scheduled summary is email-only and only sent when you have approvals waiting.
  6. If you don't already have a Scheduled approval summary switched on, it turns on automatically, set to daily by default. Weel always keeps at least one notification type active.
    • Use the dropdown to choose daily (sent at 9:00am) or weekly (sent Mondays at 9:00am).

What happens next

If you already had a scheduled approval summary switched on before turning off instant notifications, it keeps running at whatever cadence you'd already set. Nothing changes for it.
