How to make Google Wallet (formerly Google Pay) your default payment method on a Samsung device

Before you start, add your Weel card to Google Wallet first. If you haven't already, see How to add your card to Google Pay.

Steps

Set Google Wallet as your device's default wallet app (recommended if you also have Samsung Wallet installed) .

  1. Open Settings on your Samsung device.
  2. Tap Connections.
  3. Tap NFC and contactless payments.
    • Some Samsung/Android versions still show this as separate NFC and payment and Contactless payments screens. The setting works the same either way.
  4. Make sure NFC is turned on.
  5. Tap Default wallet app (shown as Payment default on some versions).
  6. Select Google Wallet.

Set your default card inside Google Wallet (if you have more than one card added)

  1. Open the Google Wallet app.
  2. Swipe to the card you want as your default.
  3. Tap the card, then tap Details.
  4. Tap Make default for tap to pay.
