Google Pay is now called Google Wallet on most Android devices; follow these steps to add your Weel card automatically, or troubleshoot the checks below if it doesn't complete automatically.
Add your card automatically (recommended)
- Open the Card tab in the Weel app.
- If your card hasn't been added to your wallet yet, tap Add to Google Wallet on the "Your Weel card is ready to setup" banner.
- Enter the one-time verification code Weel sends by SMS or email. The code expires after 5 minutes, so request a new one if it doesn't arrive in time or you enter it late, rather than retrying the same code.
- Your card is added automatically once verified. There's no need to open Google Wallet separately.
If the automatic add doesn't work
Work through these checks in order:
- Google Wallet isn't installed. Open the Google Play Store, search for Google Wallet (or Google Pay, depending on region), and install it. Some older or heavily restricted Android devices may not support it. If you can't install it at all, this is a device or Google limitation Weel can't override.
- Your card is already in your wallet. Open Google Wallet to check. If your Weel card is listed, you're set up. You can also check the Card tab in the Weel app for an "Active in wallet" badge.
- Your card is frozen. A frozen primary card disables both manual wallet add and virtual card setup until you unfreeze it. Unfreeze your card from the Card tab and try again.
- You just received a new physical card. A new physical card invalidates any wallet entry made with the old card. Remove the old entry from Google Wallet and re-add your card using the steps above.
- You're on a work-managed phone. Phones locked down by a company IT team may block adding payment cards to Google Wallet. Check with your IT team if this applies to you.
- You don't have a stable internet connection. Reconnect and try again.
- You're using Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay isn't supported for Weel cards. Use Google Wallet instead, which is fully supported on Samsung devices.
Add your card manually
If the automatic option isn't available or doesn't work:
- Open the Card tab in the Weel app.
- Tap the cog icon in the top right corner.
- Tap Add to wallet manually.
- Tap Get card details.
- In Google Wallet, tap Add to Wallet.
- Choose Payment card, then Enter details manually.
- Complete the fields in Google Wallet using the card number and details shown in the Weel app. Tap the copy icon next to the card number to copy it.
