Delete a reimbursement claim you started but haven't submitted, using the same Delete control you'd use to withdraw one you've already submitted.
Weel doesn't have a status called "Draft": an unfinished claim sits in Coding Required status.
Before you start
- This guide covers a claim still in Coding Required status (one you haven't submitted yet). If you've already submitted the claim, see How to withdraw a submitted reimbursement instead.
- Only you, or an approver already assigned to the claim, can delete it. In practice, a claim still in Coding Required hasn't reached an approver yet, so this is just you.
- To remove one line item from a multi-line claim rather than the whole thing, edit the claim and remove that item instead.
Steps
Web app
- Go to Reimbursements in the left-hand menu.
- Click into the incomplete claim.
- Click the Delete icon at the top of the claim panel.
- Confirm on the "Delete reimbursement?" prompt by clicking Delete.
Mobile app
- Open the Requests tab.
- Tap into the claim.
- Tap Cancel reimbursement.
- Confirm on the "Cancel reimbursement?" prompt by tapping Cancel reimbursement again.
What happens next
The claim is removed from your list completely rather than kept as a deleted record. Because it hasn't been submitted or approved, it hasn't held any budget amount, so unlike withdrawing a submitted claim, there's nothing to release.
