Turn off the description field for subscription card transactions so your team doesn't need to add a note for these purchases, as explained in Understanding Subscriptions in Weel.
Steps
- Click the settings (gear) icon in the top right corner of the Weel web app.
- From the drop-down menu, click Account settings.
- Click Expense fields in the left-hand tab list.
-
In the Descriptions panel, make sure the Descriptions toggle is switched on.
- This is what requires team members to add a description for card expenses, reimbursements, and invoices, and it needs to stay on for the payment-type toggles below to show.
-
Under "Require descriptions for transactions made with...", toggle off Subscription cards.
- This doesn't affect the separate Budget cards toggle, which also covers in-store card purchases. If you turn off every payment type, you'll see the warning "A payment type must be selected for the description field to be required," but it won't stop you from saving.
What happens next
If your account is integrated with Xero, MYOB AccountRight, NetSuite, or QuickBooks, you'll also see an Auto-sync tag next to the Descriptions heading. This only shows sync status with your accounting software and doesn't need any action from you.
