Freeze, delete, or replace your card to stop a merchant or subscription from charging it against your card. This is different from Understanding Card Blocking, which pauses a card for overdue receipts.
Steps
-
Freeze the card to decline any charge immediately, the same as reporting it lost or stolen. It doesn't cancel anything else, so you can unfreeze it later.
- On mobile, open Card Settings and select "Cards lost or stolen?" On web, an admin or anyone with the right Cards or Budgets permission can freeze any card from the Cards page.
-
Delete the subscription card if the charges are coming through a dedicated subscription card. This revokes the card immediately, so the merchant's saved payment details stop working for good.
- Weel recommends one card per subscription, so this shouldn't affect anything else. You'll need to be the subscription's owner or hold the right Budgets or Subscriptions permission to delete someone else's; freezing works too if you'd rather pause it than cancel it.
-
Replace the card number to issue a new number that carries over your balance and permanently revokes the old one, so the merchant's saved details stop working no matter what.
- Done from the Cards page by whoever manages your Weel cards.
