Sign up your business with Weel by completing a short application and identity verification, so you can start managing spend for your team.
Before you start
- You need to be a Director or authorised representative for your entity type to complete sign-up. If you're not, you'll need a signed Letter of Authority before you start (see step 8 for who counts as an authorised signer).
- Have your work email address and your ABN or ACN (or NZBN for New Zealand businesses) ready.
- Have a photo ID, your date of birth, and details of your business stakeholders and ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) on hand.
Steps
- Go to the Weel sign-up page at app.letsweel.com/app/business-signup. You can also choose Sign up with Xero to sign in with Xero SSO instead of entering an email and password.
- Enter your work email address, rather than a personal one. This becomes your Weel login.
- Create a password. Passwords are case sensitive and are used to log in to both the Weel web app and the Weel mobile app.
- Enter your legal first name, legal last name, mobile number, and date of birth. International mobile numbers are accepted, and all four fields are required to continue.
-
Select whether your business is registered in Australia or New Zealand, then enter your ABN or ACN (Australia) or NZBN (New Zealand).
- Weel looks up your business name and entity type automatically from the number you enter, so you don't need to type it in. This number can't be edited once you continue.
- If available, select your number of employees, industry, and accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, TechnologyOne, Wiise, or Other) to help Weel personalise your experience.
-
Review your registered business name and ABN/ACN/NZBN, then click Start verification (this may read Verify my business for some accounts). Weel verifies every business to comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, keeping the platform safe for you and your team.
- You'll then be guided through confirming your stakeholders, declaring any ultimate beneficial owners (anyone who owns or controls 25% or more of the business), uploading identity documents, and providing a Letter of Authority if you're not a Director or equivalent for your entity type.
- For helpful guidance, please refer to the article relevant the entity type of the business being onboarded: KYB (Australia) or KYB (New Zealand)
-
Complete identity and business verification by following the prompts. You may be asked for a second form of ID if Weel can't verify your identity from the first.
- Who can act as the applicant or Letter of Authority signer depends on your entity type: Director (private or public companies, government entities, SMSFs), Trustee (trusts), Partner (partnerships), Chair (associations), or the Sole Trader themselves.
- Submit your application. You'll get an email confirming your account once it's approved and ready to use.
What happens next
Once your business is verified, you'll have full access to your account to invite your team, issue cards, and set up budgets. Verification times vary, so if yours is taking longer than expected, contact Weel support. To add another business later, use Add new business from the business switcher in the top right of the Weel web app, which takes you through the same sign-up flow again.
