Every Custom Field you set up in Weel (Branch, Business Purpose, Job Number, and similar) automatically gets its own column in your CSV export from the Transactions page, with no setup needed. That makes your data easy to filter and analyse field by field. One exception: some accounting integrations combine unmapped Custom Field values into a single description line instead.
How It Works
- Custom Fields you turn on (Settings > Expense Fields > Custom Fields) each get their own column in your CSV export, listed alphabetically by name.
- Every transaction row shows the value for that field, with blank cells left empty rather than merged into another field.
- Export PDF (date, merchant, debit/credit, running balance only) and Export Tax Invoices (a ZIP of receipt documents) don't include Custom Fields at all.
- Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and NetSuite fold unmapped Custom Field values into one description line, separated by a dash (a pipe for NetSuite).
- Business Central handles it differently: mapped Custom Fields sync as native dimensions; unmapped ones aren't reflected in the sync at all.
- Export a CSV directly from Weel any time you need each Custom Field broken out into its own column.
Good to know
- The CSV's column layout is fixed and automatic: there's no setting to combine or split columns, and none appear if you haven't configured any Custom Fields.
- Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and NetSuite can't currently split combined Custom Field text into separate fields on their side; export a CSV directly from Weel if you need that.
- Pending transactions aren't included in your export, since they can still change during the 3-5 days it typically takes to clear.
