Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra security layer to your Weel account, combining your password with a one-time code to confirm it's really you.
Before you start
- Have 2FA already set up on your account, using SMS or an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Authy) linked in Settings > Profile.
How to use 2FA
-
Complete the action that requires verification:
- Logging in, changing your personal details (name, email or phone number), inviting or removing people, updating your Reimbursement bank account details, or adding, editing, or deleting a Custom User Role.
-
Weel automatically prompts you for a code, so there's no separate "confirm" step.
- If you use SMS, the code sends straight to your phone.
- If you use an authenticator app, the current code is already showing;
- When you have both methods set up, the app's code is used by default, and you can switch to SMS in the next step if needed.
-
Enter the 6-digit code in the field shown.
- Each code is unique and expires after a few minutes. If yours expires, repeat the action to get a new one.
- Click Try another way if you have more than one verification method set up and want to switch (for example, from your authenticator app to SMS) before entering a code.
- Click Resend if you're using SMS and haven't received a code yet.
-
Click Submit.
- Never share this code with anyone. Weel Support will never ask you for it.
-
Continue with your original action once your code is confirmed.
- You won't be asked again for 30 minutes for the same type of action.
What happens next
After logging in, you may see "Skip two-step authentication on login?" with two options: Remember this device (skips future 2FA prompts on this browser) or Always ask on this device (keeps prompting every time). This choice only applies to login; other actions like inviting people or updating your Reimbursement bank account details will still ask for a 2FA code regardless of what you choose here.
