How to add an authenticator app as a verification method

We encourage you to add an authenticator app as your primary authentication method. It's more secure and more reliable than SMS authentication.

To add an authenticator app as a verification method from the web app:

  1. Open the Weel web app

  2. Click the Settings cog in the top right-hand corner

  3. Click Settings

  4. On the Profile screen, click Add Authenticator app

  5. Open your preferred authenticator app (such as Google authenticator or 1Password) and scan the QR code on screen

  6. Or click Use setup key and copy and paste the setup key into your authenticator app

  7. Enter the 6-digit code displayed on your Authenticator app into the pop-up on your screen

  8. Click Submit

To add an authenticator app as a verification method from the mobile app:

  1. Open the Weel mobile app

  2. Tap the Menu button in the top left-hand corner

  3. Select Security

  4. Select Two-step authentication

  5. Your mobile browser will open up. If prompted, log in to Weel

  6. On the Profile screen, click Add authenticator app

  7. Tap Use setup key and copy and paste the setup key into your authenticator app

  8. Enter the 6-digit code displayed on your authenticator app into the pop-up on screen

  9. Tap Submit

The authentication app will now be set as your preferred authentication method. You will still be able to authenticate via an SMS code as well.
