An authenticator app generates secure, time-based one-time codes used to verify your identity when signing into Weel. Installing one is the first step before you can set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on your account. If you're new to 2FA, see How do I use two-factor authentication? to understand how it works in Weel.
Weel works with any TOTP-compatible authenticator app. Popular options include:
- Google Authenticator (free) - How to install Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator (free) - How to install Microsoft Authenticator
- 1Password
- Authy
Steps
On iPhone (iOS):
- Open the App Store on your iPhone.
- Search for your preferred authenticator app (e.g., "Google Authenticator").
- Tap Get, then tap Install.
- Once installed, open the app. You do not need to create an account in Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator to use it with Weel.
On Android:
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
- Search for your preferred authenticator app (e.g., "Google Authenticator").
- Tap Install.
- Once installed, open the app.
What happens next
Once your authenticator app is installed, you are ready to connect it to your Weel account. Head to How to add an authenticator app as a verification method to complete the setup.
Keep your phone somewhere safe. If you lose access to the device with your authenticator app, you will need to reset your connection to Weel before you can log in again.
