Weel sometimes emails you asking to confirm your business details, verify your identity, or respond to a security notice. This article explains the different types of email we send, how to spot a genuine one, and what each asks you to do so you can act with confidence.
How It Works
- Business verification and re-verification (re-KYB). Confirms your business details, at signup or on our periodic review schedule; unanswered requests get daily reminders to your Owner and Admins.
- Request for Information (RFI). Moves your application to "More Information Requested" when Compliance needs more detail, such as who owns 25% or more of the business; a reminder follows after 7 days.
- Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD). A manually sent request from our Compliance or Support team for specific documents or answers, so it won't follow one fixed template.
- Account or business-detail updates. Usually shown as an in-app "Verify your business information" banner rather than a separate email; check your account for this banner even if the email was brief.
- Security notices. Sent automatically when something needs your attention, like a deposit rejected because the sending account's name doesn't match your Weel account; we email your Owner and Admins automatically.
How to tell it's genuinely from Weel
- Weel's own transactional emails (password resets, invites, budget and bill notices, deposit alerts) come from Weel
<help@letsweel.com>. - We'll never send a 6-digit login or verification code by email. Codes only ever arrive by SMS or inside your authenticator app, and Weel Support will never ask you for one over any channel.
- If anything looks off, don't click any links or reply with sensitive information. Contact us directly using the details below instead.
What to do, and how to report a fake
- Re-verification: Log in as your business's Owner and confirm your details under "Verify your business information," even if nothing's changed. It takes about 10 minutes.
- RFI: Reply with exactly the documents or information listed in the email. Our KYB FAQ explains why this stage happens, though it doesn't list a full document checklist.
- ECDD: Reply with the specific documents or answers requested in the email; there's no separate checklist article for this yet.
- Reply to the email you received with what's asked. If you're not sure it's genuine, don't reply directly; contact Weel Support via in-app messaging or at help@letsweel.com and describe what you received instead.
- Ignoring a re-verification request pauses your business account for compliance reasons. Ignoring an RFI or ECDD request leaves your application or review pending until you respond.
- To report a suspected phishing email, contact Weel Support the same way, via in-app messaging or at help@letsweel.com, and let us know what you received.
