Direct debits into your Weel Account Balance move through BECS, Australia's bank-to-bank debit network, and pass through several stages before funds land. Between the trigger delay and bank settlement, the process usually takes 3-5 business days. Track your debit's exact progress in real time from your Weel settings, so you always know what's happening.
How It Works
- Trigger delay: Once your balance drops below your minimum threshold, Weel can take up to an hour to start the debit.
- Bank settlement: BECS debits usually take 3-5 business days from initiation to funds landing in your Account Balance.
- One debit at a time - Weel waits for an in-progress debit to settle before starting another, so nothing doubles up.
- Review holds - First-time setups, changed bank details, or unusually large amounts may be reviewed before processing.
- Failed debit handling - If a debit fails, automatic top-ups pause until you resolve it using the Retry transfer button, or contact Support if it persists.
- Direct Debit Progress tracker - See exactly which stage your debit is at and its estimated arrival date under Settings > Account balance > Direct Debit > Direct debit progress.
Good to know
- Settlement time is set by the banking network, not Weel, so it can't be sped up once a debit is triggered.
- Need funds sooner? A direct transfer into your Account Balance is usually near-instant on NPP-enabled bank accounts, though timing can vary by bank. See How to transfer funds into your account balance
