Check the current stage of your in-flight direct debit and when the funds will be available in your account balance, as explained in An Overview of Direct Debit in Weel.
Steps
- Go to Settings.
- Click the Account balance tab.
- Find the Direct debit section.
-
Click the Direct debit progress tab.
- If a direct debit is currently in flight, you can also click View details on your Account balance summary card to jump straight to this page.
What happens next
The Direct debit progress tab shows your most recent direct debit's stage, the date and time of each event, and when the funds will be available.
Most businesses see four stages:
- Direct debit initiated: Weel starts collecting funds from your bank account (a few minutes).
- Payment is on its way from your bank: confirmed and processing (3–5 business days).
- Funds in transit to Weel: the money moves through the banking network to us (a few minutes).
- Funds available in Weel: the funds are ready to use in your Weel account.
Some businesses see a condensed three-stage version, with the first two stages combined. Timing and the end result stay the same.
If a direct debit runs behind schedule, that stage is marked (Delayed) next to its timing, with no separate alert or explanation. If a direct debit fails outright, you'll see an alert on this page explaining what happened, and some failed transfers include a Retry transfer button so you can try again. Either way, contact help@letsweel.com if you're not sure what to do.
History
Below your current progress, History lists every past direct debit for your account: its date, status (completed, failed, delayed, or incoming), and amount.
Timing
Direct debit payments take 3–5 business days from initiation to availability. Weel can take up to an hour to start the debit after your balance crosses your top-up threshold, and won't start a new one while another is still settling.
This feature is available to Australian businesses, as direct debits run over BECS, Australia's bank-to-bank debit network.
