If your bank told you the transfer bounced or was returned, see How to fix a rejected BSB transfer to your Weel account instead; most rejections happen because the sending account's name doesn't match your Weel account's registered legal business name.
Your Weel account balance has its own dedicated bank account (BSB and account number in Australia; account number only in New Zealand) issued by Nium, Weel's banking partner. A transfer is matched to your business automatically through that account's own details, and your balance updates, with a confirmation email, as soon as the funds are confirmed received.
There's no in-app "in transit" tracker for a bank transfer, unlike Direct Debit's own progress screen under Settings > Account balance > Direct Debit; your bank statement and Weel's confirmation email are the best ways to follow it.
Steps
If it's taking longer than expected, work through this list in order:
-
Check how long it's been against normal processing times
-
NPP transfers (Australia) usually arrive near-instantly, though your own bank's processing can occasionally add a short delay. Standard BECS transfers usually settle the same day if sent before 4:00pm AEST or NZST.
- If this is your first transfer to this Weel account, allow up to 7 business days to settle, even over NPP. Every transfer after that is quicker.
- This is different from Direct Debit, which takes up to an hour to trigger once your balance hits your threshold, then 3-5 business days to settle. Don't use one timeline to judge the other.

-
Check your bank statement or online banking for the transfer's status
-
Confirm it actually left your account and wasn't returned; a returned transfer usually appears in your bank statement within a few days. Funds gone and not back is a sign it's genuinely in transit or under review, not rejected.
- For a name-mismatch rejection specifically, Weel emails your account's Owner and Admins.

Check which transfer method you used
-
Only standard NPP or BECS transfers are supported for topping up your balance; if you think you used RTGS, contact support directly.
- RTGS doesn't bounce back automatically. Recovering it needs a manual trace by Weel's banking partner (up to 10 business days), with a bank statement and proof of remittance, including the trace number.

Don't use BPAY to top up your balance
- Weel's BPAY option (Australia only, currently in Beta) is only for paying supplier bills through Accounts Payable. A BPAY payment sent to top up your balance won't land in your balance at all.
If it still hasn't shown up after checking all of the above, contact us via in-app messaging or help@letsweel.com with the exact amount and date/time you sent the transfer, the sending bank's name, BSB and account number, the payment network used if you know it, and a bank statement or screenshot showing the transfer was sent if you have one. We can check your account's status and, working with Nium, trace a specific transfer if needed.
