Freezing a card instantly stops new transactions on it, so you can act fast if something looks off.
Before you start
- On the web app, freezing or unfreezing your own card needs no special permission. Any cardholder can do this any time, and it's fully reversible, however the card was originally frozen.
- On the mobile app, there's no per-card freeze toggle and no unfreeze option. The only action is an emergency Freeze all cards flow, available to any cardholder, that freezes every card assigned to you at once (physical, virtual, and subscription). To unfreeze, use the web app's individual toggle instead; no Admin needed.
- Freezing or unfreezing someone else's card (for example, as an Admin managing a team member's card) needs the Create and edit budgets permission. Without it, the Freeze card toggle is greyed out.
Steps
Freeze all your cards in the mobile app (emergency use)
- Open the Weel mobile app.
- Tap the cog icon in the top right-hand corner to open Manage your card.
- Tap Cards lost or stolen?
-
Read the warning, then tap Freeze all cards, and confirm on the next screen.
- This freezes every card assigned to you (physical, virtual, and subscription) and declines their transactions until unfrozen. The mobile app can't undo this itself; unfreeze from the web app's individual toggle instead, no Admin needed.
Freeze or unfreeze an individual card in the web app
- Log in to Weel at app.letsweel.com.
-
In the left-hand sidebar, click Cards.
- The sidebar is collapsed by default; hover over it to expand, or pin it open.
- Find your card in the list (use search or filter if needed) and open its action menu.
- Turn the Freeze card toggle on or off. The label changes to Card frozen while active, and the status updates immediately.
What happens next
While a card is frozen, all transactions on it (in-store, online, and mobile wallet) are declined. If your card is lost, stolen, or you suspect fraud, keep it frozen and order a replacement, or contact your Admin or Weel Support.
