This article explains how to verify your Weel card when adding it to Apple Wallet, including what to do if Apple's phone-call verification option doesn't complete the process.
Before you start
- Your Weel account needs a mobile number on file to receive the verification code.
Steps
- Start adding your card to Apple Wallet. See How to add your card to Apple Wallet or How to add your card to Apple Wallet and Google Pay if you haven't started yet.
-
On the card verification screen, choose Text Message, the only verification method Weel supports for this step.
- If you only see a phone-call option (for example, "Authenticate now"), it plays a message to contact support instead of completing verification. Choose Text Message if it's shown, or contact Weel Support (in-app messaging or email help@letsweel.com) if it isn't.
-
Enter the one-time code Weel texts to the mobile number on your account. The code expires after 5 minutes, so enter it promptly. If it expires, go back and request a new one by repeating this step.
- This code is different from the 8-digit sticker code used to activate a new physical card. See Understanding Your Card Activation Code if that's what you're looking for.
- Once the code is accepted, your card is verified and ready to use in Apple Wallet.
What happens next
Tapping the call option doesn't break anything, so you can still finish with Text Message. If you see a Contact Card Issuer message instead, that's a different issue, usually a frozen or revoked card, not a verification problem. See How to fix your Weel card not adding to Apple Wallet for the fix.
