Your Weel physical card runs on the Visa network, so it works anywhere Visa is accepted, across Australia, New Zealand, and overseas. Foreign currency purchases carry a 0.95% FX fee, so you get competitive exchange rates without extra hassle. A small number of countries and merchant categories are blocked by default, and your business can add further restrictions on top.
How It Works
- Visa-network acceptance: Use your card wherever Visa is accepted, online or in-store with tap or chip payments, at home or overseas.
- Competitive FX rates: A 0.95% fee applies to foreign currency transactions, so you can spend confidently while travelling.
- Default merchant-category blocks: Weel automatically declines cash and quasi-cash withdrawals, money transfers, stored-value loads, and gambling for every business, with nothing to set up.
- Business-level controls: Admins can ask Support to block extra countries or currencies, or add Payment Control Rules for specific merchants or categories such as alcohol.
Good to know
- China isn't a restricted country, but acceptance can be patchy since many merchants prefer Alipay, WeChat Pay, or UnionPay, so it's worth carrying a backup payment method.
