After you accept your Weel invite, two things must happen before you get a card. First, Weel runs an automatic Nium identity check, typically clearing within 48 hours. Once that clears and your Admin has assigned the Cards payment type on a budget, your virtual card issues automatically. A physical card is separate, ordered by your Admin afterwards.
How It Works
- Account verification: Accepting your invite automatically starts a Nium identity check that typically clears within 48 hours, with no action needed from your Admin.
- Verification status: Your Admin sees your progress on the People page as Verifying, More info required, or Active, the point a card can issue.
- Virtual card: Once verification clears, your virtual Primary Card issues automatically, provided your Admin has given you the Cards payment type on a budget.
- Using your card: Your Primary Card works instantly online, and you can add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay to tap and pay in-store.
- Physical card: Your Admin must actively order a physical card once your virtual card exists; it ships within 7 to 10 business days of dispatch, Australia only.
- Checking your status: Your Cards page in the Weel app tells you what's missing; your Admin's People page shows verification status directly.
Good to know
- Waiting on verification: If Nium needs more information from you, your status changes to More info required and Weel contacts you directly; if your business itself is still completing its own verification, your individual check won't start until that finishes, adding extra time for early invitees.
- No card after verification clears: Check with your Admin: you may not yet have the Cards payment type or a budget assignment, both are required before a virtual card issues.
- Physical cards: Ordering one replaces your existing virtual card rather than adding a second, and if your status stays at Verifying for more than 48 hours, contact your Admin or Weel Support.
