Weel sends notifications by email, push, or both, and most are tied to something that needs your attention rather than being optional alerts. This article lists what Weel notifies you about, how each one arrives, and which ones you can actually control. The short answer: only your approval-notification preference is adjustable in the app.
How It Works
- Approval notifications (personal setting): Instant or scheduled summary alerts for card, bill, reimbursement, and top-up approvals, in Account settings > Profile > Communication preferences.
- Incomplete-expense reminders: Pushes at 30 seconds, 30 minutes, then weekly push-and-email (Friday 3pm Sydney) until resolved; admins can reduce them via the receipt threshold.
- Card Blocking alerts: Email and push when a card's blocked for overdue expenses (Premium+), and again once unblocked; admins control the overdue window.
- Budget top-up and limit-change alerts: Approvers hear about new requests, requesters hear the outcome, and everyone affected is told when a limit actually changes.
- Account activity alerts: Emails cover card expiry or replacement, direct debit events, low balance, declined approvals, integration disconnects, budget changes, invites, and password resets.
- Support-assisted suppression: If a notification type is causing genuine friction, contact Support. They can suppress select notifications for your business on request.
Good to know
- Approval preferences are personal to each approver (no admin control for the team); daily summaries send weekdays, weekly ones on Mondays, both at 9am Sydney time.
- You can't turn off both approval alerts: disabling one automatically switches the other on, and turning off instant notifications also silences your batch-payment outcome emails as a submitter.
- Not seeing notifications you expect? Check spam, confirm your profile email, check your device's push permissions, then contact Support if something's still missing.
