Your Weel card setup includes two different card types, each with its own number: a Primary Card for wallet and physical spending, and a Secondary (Budget) Card issued automatically for every budget you join. This explains why you might see more than one card number in the Weel app, and how it keeps your spending secure and easy to track.
How It Works
- Primary Card: one card number shared by its virtual and physical forms. You can switch which budget it's linked to anytime, changing its spend limit.
- Secondary (Budget) Cards: a unique, online-only card issued automatically for every budget you join, so each budget's spend stays easy to track.
- Multiple budgets, multiple cards: belong to three budgets and you'll have three separate Secondary Card numbers, on top of your one Primary Card.
- Wallet security: Apple Wallet and Google Pay use a tokenised number instead of your real card number, isolating a compromised wallet from your account.
- Real-time budget tracking: every purchase checks the linked budget's live balance instantly, so spend is tracked and controlled automatically.
Good to know
- To see a Secondary Card's number, open the budget and tap See card details.
- To see your Primary Card's number when it's added to your wallet, go to the Card tab, find the card badged Active in wallet, and tap See card details.
- Opening Apple Wallet or Google Pay itself won't show your real card number. Both apps only ever display a masked version.
