Weel gives you a virtual card and a physical card, each suited to different payments. Your virtual card works instantly online and, as your Primary Card, in a digital wallet. Your physical card is the plastic in your wallet, for merchants that don't take contactless or digital payments. Both draw on the same card and budget.
How It Works
- Virtual card: Ready to pay online in the Weel app the moment it's issued, and in a digital wallet too if it's your Primary Card.
- Physical card: The plastic card for merchants that don't accept contactless or digital wallets, or whenever you prefer a card in hand.
- One card, two states: Ordering a physical card doesn't create a second card. It's usable online and in a wallet immediately, then in-store once activated.
- Freeze or revoke: Freeze either card temporarily, or permanently revoke it if lost, stolen, or misused. Both actions work the same for virtual and physical cards.
- Replacement and expiry: Replacing a virtual card is free. A physical card costs AUD$15 plus GST including delivery, and both expire three years from issuance.
- Secondary Budget Cards: These are online-only and can't be added to a digital wallet or tapped in-store, unlike your Primary Card.
Good to know
- Physical cards are issued by an Account Owner or Admin, to any team member with the Cards payment type assigned.
- While in transit, your physical card shows as Pending shipment or Requires activation. The second means it's been dispatched, not delivered, and typically arrives in 7-10 business days via AusPost.
