Every Weel card, Primary or Secondary Budget Card, physical or virtual, is issued in one team member's own name, never a shared program name, keeping every transaction traceable to the person who made it. You can't add a second card under a shared name: it always carries the teammate's own name. Track shared or team spend at the budget level.
How It Works
- Secondary Budget Cards are issued automatically when a teammate joins a card-enabled budget, always under their own legal name at the card issuer.
- Primary Cards follow the same rule: the Cardholder name field on a physical card is locked and pre-filled, not open for you to edit.
- Business name is the one editable line on a physical Primary Card, identifying your business rather than replacing the cardholder's locked name.
- Budget names track shared or team spend: name a budget Fleet or Marketing, add your team, and each transaction reports against it automatically.
Good to know
- The Business name field defaults to your trading or registered business name and can be edited, up to 20 characters. There's no equivalent field on virtual cards, so Secondary Budget Cards never carry one. Physical cards require an existing Primary Card first, and there's no physical-card option for Secondary Budget Cards.
